Lori's Direct Link from CaringBridge.com

Here is the link.....http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/matthewdelange.

It seems that several people are now doing online blogs for this family, the link above I think may be the one they are doing there own, so at this time I will bow out and have you go directly to this one, Otherwise there is just duplicate info going around......I see others are posting pictures as well, I will post the pics I have received, but these will be the last ones.
Thank you on behalf of the family and from myself as well! Please be sure to check this out again, if by chance you forget the link to their online blog, you can always come back here to re-click! :)

May God bless each of and everyone of you who have followed this story thus far, DO NOT FORGET THIS FAMILY.....it is imperative that you continue to pray for them.....I know from personal experience that news travels like a wildfire but more often than not when the " NEW- NEWNESS" wears off....you do not hear from people quite as much. Please don't do this to them! They need to hear your encouraging words, they need to read them as well in the cards that you send, in the emails, in the online guest book entries......Thanks again!

UPDATES......

Hey

Well Matt is doing better....we are still celebrating little victories with them along the way. When I say HORRAY for Pain, I know it sounds werid, but the more pain , in more places that he feels, the better chance is that he indedd has feeling in that area and that is a good thing....they did surgery and when they got in there they realized things w/his shoulder were not as bad as they had thought. They put plates and pins in it, but mostly no talk of prosthetic one now ( PTL!!!) He is in and out of consciousness, and that is good, he gives indication with his face that he is in pain , and that is good. Please pray that the Lord will give him strength and allow him to be able to handle the pain.

Heidi and Haleigh were able to start spending time together again, as Haleigh is in Rehab....I know from personal "TWIN" expereince that this has been hard on Heidi, as God gives twins such a special bond. Pray that she can be the best blessing to her sister through all of this!

I'm Back.....

WEDNESDAY 8/27/2008

The blog is off to a great start.....sorry to many of you who could not get thru at first, but thanks for emailing me and thankfully now it is straightened out!

I just got off the phone with Leslie and this is the update from lunchtime
HALEIGH
She has been moved to Rehab and is no longer bedridden, she is free to move around as she can! She is remembering some things and she cannot process that her "daddy" cannot come to see her, ( please pray I know how hard that is from personal experience) , but they are working towards getting her a pass in the near future to be able to come over to the on other hospital to see him.
MATT
Last night ( per Leslie) his BP went up extremely high as well as his heart rate ( up to 180) and he spiked a fever. This was somewhat a turn for the worse but reporting from a personal standpoint...this is something that will happen A L O T over the next few weeks....Higher BP and Heart Rate and even Fever is a sign of many things , but some being that he is feeling pain more, his body is responding to it and to possibly infection , and the fact that they are trying to lower the sedation and up the pain meds, so that he won't be completely "OUT OF IT" all of the time.....if they lower the sedation then they can get more responses out of him , and although some of the responses may be pain ,and that seems horrible......it IS a good thing. The more places he CAN FEEL pain......the better!
They, ( the doctors) believe that he has pneumonia in the LEFT lung, but at this time the RIGHT lung looks the same. Later today he will go down for a BRONCIOSCOPY ( not sure on the spelling....sorry!) to have a light run down thru the respirator and then they will take a sample of the mucus there to test it for what type of pneumonia, they will begin him on a antibiotics anyway bc the test takes up to 48 hours and do not want to risk it laying dormant for that long, when they determine the type they may or may not have to change it but hey......prayerfully it will already be getting better before that!
Today ,he did wave his hand at one of the nurses and as I was still on the phone w Leslie , Lori came out from back there and she reported that he had squinted his eyes, seemed to have bit down on the tube in his mouth and waved his arm!!!! PRAISE THE LORD !
So as you can see there will be MANY - MANY small victories over the next few days and weeks and months, please rejoice with this family over even them slightest.....it DOES MEAN THE WORLD TO THEM..I guarantee it!

FRIDAY 8/22/2008

Friday 8/22/2008 @ 12:58 PST - I received a phone call from a South Dakota Cell Phone, I answered and I was totally NOT prepared for what was on the other side......... It was Riley DeLange and although I have known him since birth, it is not usual for him to neccessarily to call me in the middle of the day. He began to report to me about the fact that his family had been in an accident and his dad and one of his twin sisters had been flown via lifeflight to Ohio. I began to cry, but finally I asked him, where he was and he told me he was inthe backseat of a Sheriffs truck and they were taking the rest of the family to the hospital!!!!

Here is the clip I found on the internet about the http://madisoncourier.com/main.asp?SectionID=178&SubSectionID=270&ArticleID=45981.

Please please please pray!!!!!!!!!!!! Matt is still in critical care and although Haleigh has improved some she is still in a lot of pain and has a long road ahead.

Please be sure to check back daily even hourly maybe at times so that you will know how to pray for this wonderful Christian family..... Thanks on their behalf, Angelia W Samples - Friend and Fellow Pastor's Wife in North Idaho
